withered vines
the needle fails
to find a vein
viti appassite
cercando la vena
l’ago fallisce

Great haiku. I can relate. During hospital treatments it was extraordinary how many couldn’t find my veins, yet one or two managed straightaway. Good thing I am not squeamish about syringes missing their mark.
Great opening line and I like the ‘delayed’ alliteration of vines and veins.
warm regards,
Alan
