
Lucia Fontana is an Italian poet and author, as well as the founding editor of Incense Dreams, a journal that explores and exhibits short Asian-form poetry and translations (chanokeburi.it – cnk.chanokeburi on fb) She is a Buddhist, psychotherapist, mother, tango enthusiast and dancer. Her haiku and senryū have been published by international print and web journals such as Modern Haiku, Hedgerow, Akitsu Quarterly, Cattails, The Asahi Shimbun, MoonBathing, Blithe Spirit, Failed Haiku, Stardust Haiku, Brass Bell, American and British Haiku Society Anthologies, as well the historical Japanese newspaper The Mainichi Shimbun. In 2016, 2017 and 2018, she was ranked by “Haiku Euro Top” to be among the 100 highest-ranked haijin in Europe, and, in addition, she was shortlisted in The Haiku Foundation’s Touchstone Individual Poem Award in 2017 and 2019, as well for her book, Sunflower Moon, (Red Moon Press, 2019)
